The City Council has come to a decision … maybe not! In a split vote the City has decided to halt review of the mini city that was to be Las Lomas, planned for the southern edge of Santa Clarita Valley.
The vote at 10 - 5 instructed the Planning Department to stop processing the application.
The City of Los Angeles was the last ditch effort by developer Dan Palmer of Palmer Investments, LLC. aka Las Lomas Land Co.
This vote by council members is a victory for Santa Clarita as in recent weeks this project has pulled out all the stops when the City of Santa Clarita said no, palmer went to the County, County said no they went to the City of Los Angeles.
The latest vote by the LA City comes on the heels of a unanimous vote last month to let the project proceed - The Signal a local newspaper broke a story where it named individuals other than Palmer as valid parcel owners -
This project and the hearings that followed have been a huge waste of time and money for all the City and county government involved. The decision for Los Angeles city to back down comes on advice from and attorney who suggested that if the City of Los Angeles OK’d the project it would leave them open for litigation from the City of Santa Clarita and The County of Los Angeles.
