Don’t know what’s for dinner, but we’re not having any!
Sellers, if your home is on the market, a word of caution about what you prepare in the kitchen! Recently I was touring a beautiful Valencia home where the buyer was really interested in this house and neighborhood.
When we got there the seller was home, which is very common. What wasn’t common was what was cooking!
I don’t know what is was but trust in me, we didn’t hang out long enough to find out what was simmering on the stove in the stock pot of doom in the kitchen. The buyer was so turned off we didn’t finish viewing the home. Ouch!
How can you avoid things like this as a seller?
1.) Try to cook pungent dishes the night before and air out the litchen at night.
2.) Don’t cook those types of dishes when your home is on the market.
3.) Open windows if you absolutely have to cook strong smelling foods.
4.) Hire a take out chef! (I’m teasing!)
Home seller’s have to have the edge now, with so many homes on the market, you want the buyer to have a good impression of your home for when it comes time to write the purchase offer, your home will be one of consideration.
