Con artists posing as utility workers
Southern California Edison officials today warned customers affected by wildfires to be on the lookout for con artists posing as utility workers.
Apparently there is a on going problem for SoCal edison customers and the utility company wanted to get the word out that there are con men using this guise to steal your money! the company states so far there have been no reports of fake utility workers conning SCE customers returning to homes affected by the fire, according to SCE’s Vanessa McGrady.
Customers should be suspicious of people claiming to be SCE employees, contractors who promise to restore power for a fee or ask for money to avoid having having power turned off, SCE officials said.
