Shelved for now is the renaming of Newhall’s Railroad Avenue and San Fernando Road from 11th Street to Magic Mountain Parkway as Bouquet Canyon Road. The council cites asking for more input from local business owners and residents.

Voting unanimously the council opposed the planned Las Lomas development that would bring up to 5,500 units on 555 acres atop the hills between Interstate 5 and Highway 14.

Also on the agenda, the open space project. Council members agreed to allow city staff to begin the financial process in its plans to aquire open space lands. The City of Santa Clarita will be seeking up to $17.2 million in certificate of partcipation bonds.
