C.A.R.’s Disaster Relief Fund

December 12th, 2007 · No Comments

C.A.R. has received $872,638 in member donations to its Disaster Relief Fund to assist those who lost their homes and or businesses in the series of wildfires that have consumed more than 1,700 homes across Southern California since October 21.  Of that amount, $322,000 in grants has been awarded to those in need.

"Your donations to C.A.R.’s Disaster Relief Fund reflect our Association’s long-standing commitment to helping those in need," said C.A.R. President William E. Brown.  "Your generosity will go a long way in helping REALTOR(R)’s, their staff, and family members, who have been impacted by these devastating wildfires."

C.A.R. established the C.A.R. Disaster Relief Fund in the wake of the 2003 California wildfires. Grants provided by the fund were used to help members of the REALTOR(R) family –REALTORS(R), their staff, and association members and their staff — who incurred substantial losses due to the wildfires.  Today, C.A.R. continues to reach out to those affected by natural and other disasters by distributing grants of $1,000 to $10,000 from the fund.
