Aqua Dulce
Agua Dulce, an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County. Population is approximately 4,000 give or take a few.
Elevation is 2400 to 3400 feet. Summer time temps run in the 90’s and over winter average temp is 50 with overnight lows averaging 30 degrees. Occasional winter snowfall.

Water to individual homes is provided by wells or trucked into the area and paid for by the home owner. Lot size is a minimum of 2.5 acres with 5 and 10 acre parcel being common.
There is one elementary in Aqua Dulce and the Acton/Aqua Dulce school system has grades k-12.

Aqua Dulce also has Vasquez Rocks County Park, named after the bandit Tiburico Vasquez.
Vasquez and his gang who would rustle cattle, rob stagecoaches and steal cattle in the 1880’s, used the caves and rocks as a hideaway from sheriff’s posses and vigilantes who were always on his trail.

Acton
Acton is a growing ranch community with 2,390 people [Census 2000] its nearest neighbor being Aqua Dulce.
History about Acton states that it was founded in 1887 by gold miners who were working in the Red Rover Mine. It was named after Acton, Massachusetts by one of the miners. Two of the best-known gold mines located in Acton were the Red Rover mine and the Governors mine. Mining of Gold, and titanium ore continued into the early 1900s.
